The Hill: McConnell says national abortion ban ‘possible’

“'If the leaked opinion became the final opinion, legislative bodies — not only at the state level but at the federal level — certainly could legislate in that area,' McConnell told USA Today when asked if a national abortion ban is 'worthy of debate.'”

John,

Last week, Politico reported that a draft opinion shows the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade. Ending Roe would be devastating for reproductive rights, with women in more than half the states in the country losing access to safe and legal abortion.

Now, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says a ban that would make abortion illegal nationwide is "possible." This would mean that regardless of where in the country a person lives – from red states to blue states – abortion services are at stake.

It's clear that reproductive health care is on the ballot this November. It's more important than ever that we elect pro-choice leaders like Kim to Congress to defend Roe and ensure a federal abortion ban never passes into law.

Will you add your name right away to commit to electing pro-choice leaders up and down the ballot this November?

Thanks,

To hold the House majority, we must re-elect Rep. Kim Schrier in WA-08. Will you chip in to protect Kim's seat and the Democratic House majority in 2022?
