John – If you’re frustrated with Democratic leadership this last week, we don’t blame you. Over and over again it feels like the people in charge in D.C. don’t understand the moment we’re in and aren’t prepared to step up the way we need them to.
That’s why WHAT is on the ballot next week matters as much as WHO. [[link removed]]
Next Tuesday, people will cast their ballots for SIX BNC candidates in four states. You can help us turn out the vote with a $25, $50, or $100 contribution to BNC right now. [[link removed]]
In North Carolina, abortion care is on the ballot.
Erica Smith (NC-01) is running for an open seat against an anti-abortion Democrat. When she wins this primary, she’ll likely face a Republican candidate who participated in the January 6th insurrection and who also opposes reproductive rights. If Erica is elected alongside Nida Allam (NC-04), we will send two bold, progressive women of color to Congress from North Carolina who will fight for reproductive freedom.
In Oregon, the climate crisis is on the ballot.
Doyle Canning (OR-04) is a lifelong climate activist running for an open seat against a pro-pipeline, fossil-fuel-funded candidate handpicked by the establishment to be the successor to this seat.
In Pennsylvania, equal rights are on the ballot.
Malcolm Kenyatta stands to become the first openly gay Black man elected to the U.S. Senate. Jerry Dickinson (PA-12) is a constitutional scholar and civil rights attorney. At a time when state legislatures and the Supreme Court are viciously attacking LGBTQ equality, we need representatives who understand what’s at stake and will rein in this right-wing court to protect our rights.
Last, but absolutely not least, in Kentucky, justice is on the ballot.
Charles Booker is running to defeat Rand Paul and expand the Democratic Senate majority. But Charles knows that defeating a radical right-wing senator who spreads QAnon conspiracies isn’t enough.
We need principled, unbought, unbossed voices in the Senate fighting for regular people. And Charles has proven he can build the working class coalition needed to fight for justice for ALL.
There’s a lot at stake in this election, and we’ve seen over the course of the last week that, as Nina Turner often says, “any old blue just won’t do.”
We need bold progressives who are going to fight for us. And THAT is what is on the ballot on Tuesday.
Pitch in $25 or whatever you can spare today to help us get these extraordinary leaders elected, and let’s get some real work done. [[link removed]]

Since 2016 BNC has led the way in advancing popular policies like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal. We invest EARLY to help grassroots candidates succeed. We recruited and elected AOC in 2018 and Cori Bush in 2020 alongside Jamaal Bowman and Rashida Tliab. And we have our first win of 2022: Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick won her primary by FIVE votes thanks to BNC.
We have elections from now until November, and our candidates are counting on your support. Pitch in today and join us as we take over Congress and return power to the people.
