Entertainment Community Fund

Events & Fundraisers

Dear Friends of the Fund,

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you: The Actors Fund is now the Entertainment Community Fund!

You may have gotten a sneak peek when we announced our new name at last night’s record-breaking Gala in Los Angeles and New York City, where Fund Chairman Brian Stokes Mitchell, Alex Newell, LL Cool J, Hugh Jackman, Sutton Foster, Amber Riley, Amanda Kloots and many more helped us celebrate the new name and our first Entertainment Community Fund Medal of Honor recipients Uzo Aduba, Bob Bakish, Mercedes Ruehl and Robert E. Wankel.

The Entertainment Community Fund spotlights the full scope of our mission of supporting a life in the arts for everyone who works in entertainment. Our new name is designed to be more inclusive and representative of the diverse professions we serve—from actors and dancers to stage managers and lighting crews to costumers, screenwriters, composers and more performing arts workers.

When The Actors Fund was founded in 1882, the term “Actor” applied to everyone connected to “Show Business”. Over time, the word’s meaning and our industry have changed, but the heart of the Fund has not: we help people in need in the performing arts and entertainment community. While our name has changed, our mission, vision and values remain the same. In fact, our new name better represents the full scope of what we do and the broad range of performing arts and entertainment professionals we’ve served for over 140 years.

Please add our new email address, [email protected], to your contacts and safe senders list to ensure that you continue to receive all of our communications.

Thank you for your continued support as we enter this exciting new chapter for the Fund!
