Team, Today, I'm proud to share with you the latest legislation coming out of the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress (or the "Fix Congress" Committee): the Improving Government for America's Taxpayers Act.

One of my main goals in Congress is making sure the government is working for you as effectively and efficiently as possible. Saving taxpayers' money and ensuring that our government is serving the people is something that everyone – Democrats and Republicans – acan get behind.

This bipartisan legislation would provide Congress with a layout of achieving significant taxpayer savings via oversight, legislation, and appropriations — and will push for the implementation of U.S. Government Accountability Office recommendations to hold federal agencies accountable and potentially save billions of dollars annually.

As Chair of the "Fix Congress" Committee, it's always been my goal to take steps that will make Congress work better for the American people. There's no silver bullet to fix issues we're facing in our government, but I believe the Improving Government for America's Taxpayers Act is a strong step forward.
