Last night, the Connecticut Democratic Party officially endorsed me to be the Democratic nominee for the 5th Congressional District, again!
I am so honored to represent you in Congress, and I thank you for the confidence you have placed in me ahead of what is shaping up to be the most important midterm election of our time.
All eyes are on this district. National Republican groups are desperate to get a foothold and unseat me because they believe this seat is the key to breaking the Democrats' razor-thin Majority in the House. With voting rights, reproductive rights and civil rights on the chopping block, we will not let that happen!

When I left teaching to run for office, despite the odds stacked against me, the community rallied behind me. Thousands of grassroots supporters like YOU stepped up and made a difference. Together, we pulled off the impossible. Together, we will bring it home again.
With all of you behind me, I know there is nothing we can’t achieve. But I won’t take anything for granted. These positions are not anointed or appointed – and we will work for every vote, just like we did four years ago.

Just last week with the news about the Supreme Court being poised to overturn Roe, we all saw the long-term, far-reaching implications of the complacency that allowed Trump to win the White House in 2016.
