John,

When the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, it will mark the first time that a fundamental right has been taken away at the federal level. But that doesn’t mean that other rights have not been chipped away at over the years. And if Republicans get their way, many more rights will fall before they’re done. They’ve told us what they intend to do. We should take them at their word.

Here’s the Republican plan:

1. ERODE VOTING RIGHTS
  • Gut the Voting Rights Act  ✅
  • At the state level, make voting harder for people of color  ✅
  • Gerrymander districts to keep as much power as possible  ✅
2. TAKE AWAY ABORTION RIGHTS
  • Use power gained by eroding voting rights to appoint and confirm radically conservative Supreme Court justices  ✅
  • Overturn Roe  💬 (in progress)
  • At the state level, outlaw abortion  💬 (in progress)
3. UNDO LGBTQ+ RIGHTS
  • Use Roe’s overturning as precedent to strike down Obergefell v. Hodges, eliminating marriage equality
  • Create a cascade effect, rolling back LGBTQ+ rights at every chance ⌛
Republicans are halfway through their plan. In order to stop them, we need to change the makeup of the Supreme Court. I’ve introduced the Judiciary Act to expand the court by adding four justices, and I need your help to build support for my bill. Add your name and show you support expanding the Supreme Court to save our democracy >>

No matter what they take from us, they can’t take our voice.
