I’ve been committed to service in our community since I was a young person, and that's why I announced my candidacy for the Iowa House of Representatives earlier this year.

The past few months have been incredible. I've been doorknocking, registering voters, and working with volunteers across the district - the district I've called home for my entire life - and the conversations really tell a story.

They tell a story of people tired of being ignored.  A story of voters that are looking for a State Representative with deep roots in the community. We need you to help us keep telling these stories. We have 28 more days. Can you chip in $28 to help us close out this campaign strong?

I’m running because the south side of Des Moines needs a problem solver with a broad background to meet the challenges it faces. I’m proud of my south side roots, and I’m looking forward to meeting voters throughout the district and representing their interests in the Iowa Legislature.

I worked in restaurants, construction, manufacturing, and transportation when I was younger. Inspired by my father, I became a teacher and a coach, teaching in rural Iowa and Des Moines. As a teacher, I worked to get students into community service and organizing efforts – feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, tending to those in need.

And that’s a big reason I’m running for the Iowa House of Representatives on the south side of Des Moines. I want to give back to the community that helped me get a leg up and have so much success in life.
