There are so many books worth reading.

Chances are that you, a part of the Century community, like to read. I do too. My family teases me because I bring a book everywhere (and I mean everywhere) I go. You never know when you’ll have some down time!
One of the problems with books is that there are so many. I’ve always been a bit haunted by the Thoreau quote, “Read the best books first, or you may not have a chance to read them at all.” (Don't tell Thoreau's ghost that I haven’t read any Thoreau.) This is why I appreciate the Century’s book reviews—they let us know which books are out there that might be worth the time.
We just released our spring books issue, our first books issue since I’ve been here. I love it! It includes reflections on the importance of two commonly banned ([link removed]) books: Toni Morrison’s Beloved ([link removed]) and Art Spiegelman’s Maus ([link removed]) . Plus there are so many wonderful reviews, such as Jessica Mesman’s take on Lisa Sharon Harper’s Fortune ([link removed]) .
