Folks, I need to be honest with you – I’m livid right now.

I just got word that the Alabama GOP filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court in support of keeping our state’s newly-gerrymandered maps. This is outrageous, but I’d be lying to you if I said I was surprised.

For months, the Alabama Republican Party has been fighting to keep Black voters packed – a form of gerrymandering – into a single district. This drastically decreases the level of proportional political power that Black voters have and shuts so many out from a fair electoral process.

I’ve been in support of creating a second majority Black district since the very beginning. It’s my belief that people across Alabama deserve equal representation no matter their race, ethnicity, creed, or any other identity the GOP wants to section us off by.

If you’re with me, I know we can take on the Republican Party and their voter suppression here in Alabama. Being the only federally-elected Democrat from our state, it’s me, you, and our combined willpower to win this fight.
