Hey, Team – Laura, Digital Director at the DGA here.
In just a few minutes, I’m going to ask you to take part in our Official May Focus Group. (If you want to start right away, you can begin here). But first, I wanted to talk about the Supreme Court’s draft decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and what that means for our mission here at the DGA.
With reproductive freedom being left to the states, your right to an abortion will likely depend on your governor. I know that for many of us that’s a scary thought. In states with GOP legislatures like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, Democratic governors and their veto pens are the only thing standing in the way of Republican legislatures’ attempts to end abortion.
But there’s hope. With 36 governors’ races this year, abortion is on the ballot. We have a chance to GUARANTEE reproductive rights are protected for millions of Americans. And we have the opportunity to vote out some of Roe v. Wade’s biggest opponents, like Gov. Abbott in Texas and Gov. Kemp in Georgia.
To do that we’ll need to build a winning strategy in every state. So I wanted to personally invite you to be one of the first to participate in our Official May Focus Group. This is an exclusive opportunity only available to a select group of engaged Democrats like yourself. And it’s our chance to hear what motivates voters like you to elect Dem govs across the country.
We’re relying on your feedback, but any responses received after tonight's 11:59 p.m. deadline will be too late to be considered. So, Team, can I count on you to take part in our focus group?
