I’m Mallory McMorrow, Michigan state senator and proud Emerge alum. When I took to the Michigan State Senate floor last week to speak out against the GOP’s hateful attacks on me, I didn’t expect to make national news. But Republicans’ fear mongering, manufactured moral panic, and scapegoating of marginalized folks aren’t just problems in Michigan. It’s a problem in every corner of our country – and it’s going to take all of us to stop it.

I'm writing today because we need to work together for change – and John, everything is on the line right now. This year, 46 states have state legislative races, including mine in Michigan. Thirty-six states have races for governor, and a third of the U.S. Senate plus the entire U.S. House of Representatives are up for grabs. Our future depends on filling those seats with candidates committed to service – and to doing everything we can to try to right wrongs and fix the injustices in our nation.

So I’m asking you today: Will you donate $5 now – or as much as you can spare before midnight tonight – to help Emerge recruit, train, and elect Democratic women up and down the ballot, all over the country?
