I officially filed for re-election in California's 13th district today.

Before I explain, Saturday is our first fundraising deadline of my re-election campaign. Will you donate $5 or more now to help us reach our goal and kick my campaign off strong?

My entire life, I've fought for justice, equality, and real opportunity for all. It would be my honor to continue serving the most progressive district in the nation during this defining moment in our country's history.

If we want to deliver on our progressive agenda to the American people, it's going to take bold action from bold leaders.

We must tackle the affordable housing and homelessness crisis in our communities. We must act urgently on the climate emergency. We must work to provide affordable quality health care -- including reproductive freedom -- for all, and ensure everyone has access to high-quality education.

Together, we will resist the hateful policies that threaten so many in our communities. We will address the gun violence epidemic, advance just immigration reform, and increase access to the ballot box.

We will defend our democracy, safeguard our elections, and get big money out of politics. We will keep up the fight for a living wage, address income inequality, and end poverty.

All of these things are possible, friend -- but only with your support.
