After conducting hundreds of interviews and going through hundreds of thousands of documents, the House’s January 6th Committee will soon hold public hearings sharing what they’ve learned.
And frankly, it couldn’t come soon enough, because we just read this startling statistic: About half of Republicans described the January 6th attack as “patriotic.”
Mikie knows what that day really was: a coordinated attack set on overthrowing the will of voters.
Mikie was one of the first Members of Congress to speak out against the insurrection and demand accountability.
Where was GOP leadership? Well, the majority of Washington Republicans still refuse to condemn the insurrection and 175 Republican members voted against Mikie’s efforts to investigate the attack.
The GOP is doing what’s politically convenient rather than what’s right, because they’re afraid it’ll hurt their chances in November.
Here’s another scary reality: If we lose the House majority this year, Washington Republicans could put a stop to the January 6th investigation.
That’s just one reason why holding the House and re-electing leaders like Mikie are so important. Your contributions have a direct impact on our ability to make sure that happens. Please consider chipping in today.
