For decades, abortion rights have hung by a thread, one Supreme Court decision away from being abolished on the federal level. Justice Alito’s draft opinion shows that the radical right is not done revoking our rights, likely coming after marriage equality next.

We cannot allow Mitch McConnell and Republicans to continue to stack the court against justice and equality. In 2016, when McConnell refused to hold a hearing for President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, he was playing by his own set of rules on judicial appointments.

The following year, when McConnell killed the judicial filibuster to install Neil Gorsuch on the bench, he once again broke precedent, putting right-wing power ahead of the interests of the American people.

And, when McConnell forced through Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation just days before the 2020 presidential election, McConnell broke his own precedent from four years prior, again for power and political gain.
