Hi there, this is Cheri Beasley. I have a few moments of free time in my schedule this morning and wanted to write you a note to share a few reflections about my decision to run for Senate — and why your support is so important to our success.

The truth is the Senate is not working for our families. Too many people have been left behind and ignored by leaders who only respond to corporate interests and the wealthy and well-connected.

For me, this has always been not just about today or tomorrow but about the next generation and the world we want for them. That means taking real action to protect voting rights, the planet, reproductive freedom and more.

So that's why I got in this race — to be a voice for you and anyone in our country who is looking for a fair shake and a fair shot.

This is shaping up to be one of the closest and most expensive races in the country. I've known that would be the case from the start, and it does not scare me. But the truth is it takes more than courage to take on and shake up the status quo. We need a whole team of people to support us in this fight.

You're an important part of whether we have what it takes to win. When this race could come down to just a handful of votes, everything we do can make a difference. So I’m asking:

If you can, please contribute today to help us flip North Carolina and expand the majority. I’m determined to protect our progress and deliver real change, but we’re going to need a lot of support from people like you to win this race.
