Today is a busy day, so I’ll keep this short.

I wanted to reach out to you because today is the Second District nominating convention. My team set a goal of raising $5,000 before the convention begins, and we still have $635 to go. Can you chip in even just $2 before the day is over to ensure we hit our goal?

This is a big moment for our people-powered campaign. Receiving the Democratic nomination for the Second District would be an honor, and it would show that voters across eastern Connecticut believe in our mission and know that I always stay focused on the needs of our community in Washington.

I know that our opponents will have their eyes on our race today, but that’s nothing new. I’m one of Washington Republicans’ top targets to beat in November, and dark-money groups have already reserved $1.75 million to run attack ads in our state in the weeks leading up to the election.

We have a tough road ahead, John. But days like today show that the wind is at our backs, and our support is only growing.
