We’ll keep this quick. California is so important to us this year as abortion rights are under attack nationally.
California AG Rob Bonta is up for reelection after being appointed to the job by Governor Gavin Newsom in April of 2021. AG Bonta has fiercely advocated for abortion access during his time in office, but he’s currently facing two Republican challengers and a third GOPer turned Independent this November. He’s standing up against the decades of Republican attacks on reproductive health, and he’s been a steadfast leader in this latest fight for abortion rights.
We’ve seen the GOP backlash that led to the recall efforts against Gavin Newsom last year, and friend, those sentiments haven’t gone anywhere. If we want to keep a Dem AG in California who is an abortion rights leader, we’re going to have to make the right digital and grassroots organizing investments.
