Unite our voices for change in Washington, DC

Dear Friends,

We are excited to announce the launch of the Unity March ([link removed]) , an historic Asian American-led, BIPOC multiracial, intersectional mobilization bringing together 25,000+ Asian Americans, immigrants, and allies to Washington, DC on Saturday, June 25, 2022 to unite our voices for change.

We are calling on organizations, community members, and allies to join us from around the country in this large-scale multicultural mobilization.

Led by Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC, APIAVote, Gold House, Indian American Impact Project, NCAPA, OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates, and SALDEF, the Unity March aims to bring advocates and allies to DC, with satellite actions across the country and a full program with speeches by impacted persons and community leaders to tell a story of pan-racial power, unity, and resilience.

2022 marks the 40th year since the murder Vincent Chin, the 30th anniversary of the LA Uprising/“Saigu,” as well as the one-year mark since the deadly mass shootings in Atlanta and Indianapolis. And while public attention to the issue of Asian American and immigrant violence has waned, Asian American communities – along with other communities of color – continue to grapple with discriminatory violence and harassment across the country.

With the midterm elections looming, Asian Americans and other BIPOC communities also face countless attempts at voter suppression, all while seeing little progress on issues like a pathway to citizenship and workers rights, and outright attacks on our LGBTQ+ communities, reproductive justice, and the honest teaching of our diverse histories in schools.

Recognizing that no community is a monolith and that systemic biases have affected many of our communities throughout history, the Unity March seeks to advance socioeconomic and cultural equity, racial justice, and solidarity. Learn more about our equity platform here ([link removed]) .
