John, our democracy is in serious danger.

A former federal judge appointed by George H.W. Bush has laid out the plan Republicans had in 2020 and plans they have for 2024 in terrifying detail.

FIRST, Trump Republicans tried to have the Supreme Court rule in favor of expanded power for state legislatures in choosing their presidential electors.

THEN the Court, missing Amy Coney Barrett’s additional conservative vote, did not rule on the matter, so Trump Republicans went to state election officials to try and implement alternative slates of presidential electors for Mike Pence to certify on Jan. 6th, which he refused to do.

NOW, they’ve been laying the groundwork to do it all over again, hoping for success.

Republicans have been pushing the Big Lie about 2020 for a year and a half now, not because they want to do the impossible and overturn the 2020 election results. Their true goal is more sinister.

Republicans are conditioning voters to not accept Democratic victories as free and fair elections, and are installing MAGA loyalists both in critical positions that oversee state elections and in the U.S House to aid their final goal: overturning the 2024 election if they don’t win fair and square.
