That’s why we’re taking action by demanding a pathway to citizenship for all during Asian American Pacific Islander heritage month. We believe that all immigrants and their families deserve to feel safe and secure in the country they call home — regardless of their health, language, or ability to provide essential labor.

Since the start of the pandemic, many AAPIs have been the victims of brutal attacks fueled by xenophobic racism. Today, many continue to live in fear for themselves and their families. Meanwhile, many undocumented AAPIs must live with the added uncertainty of being uprooted at a moment’s notice by our immigration system. 

The Asian and Pacific Islander community deserves to live safely from not only the threat of physical violence but also deportation and separation from their families. 

Our immigration system should strengthen families, not tear them apart. By providing a pathway to citizenship, over 1.8 million undocumented Asians and Pacific Islanders and their families who call this country home will be given the chance to thrive.
