Judge Schedules Gavin Wax's Hearing:
May 10th

The New York Young Republican Club announces its support of Club President Gavin M. Wax’s effort to defend New Yorkers’ representation in state government.

Judge Patrick McAllister signed Mr. Wax’s order to show cause yesterday and has scheduled a hearing for May 10, 2022.

These court filings, submitted by Mr. Wax on Sunday, May 1, 2022, bring The New York State Assembly District lines under scrutiny and signify a monumental effort to protect the rights of ALL New Yorkers.

Mr. Wax is fighting to allow the court to redraw Assembly maps alongside Congressional and Senate maps.

“I will not stand for New Yorkers to suffer from the whims of an unconstitutional and undemocratic process. The exclusion of State Assembly District maps from the special master’s redistricting efforts will subject New Yorkers to a decade of misrepresentation in state government,” Mr. Wax stated.

Mr. Wax has incurred $12,500 in legal fees for his initial motion. Support our effort to fully fund necessary litigation to ensure that Democracy in New York is defended.

** Board Position Available: Activism Committee Chairman

The New York Young Republican Club is on the lookout for a new Activism Committee Chairman.

The Chairman of this committee serves as a voting member of the Club’s Board of Governors. We are looking for someone with a passion for both conservative politics and a background in political campaigns, grassroots activism, non-profits, or government.

The Activism Chairperson will be responsible for attending and organizing political rallies, protests, and other grassroots initiatives.

Applicants must be a current member of the Club in good standing and be willing to commit to at least one board meeting and one Club event per month.

We are currently looking for Vice-Chairs for many of our committees, who will receive special discounts for working events and recognition on our website. In addition to Vice Chair positions, we are looking to build all of our committees in terms of members.

Any group of five Voting Members of the Club may petition the Board of Governors to charter a Caucus to forward ideas, advance an issue, represent a constituency, endorse candidates, or propose resolutions.
