Friend – I was born in a small home in Jacksonville – the youngest of seven children. 

Mom was a maid, and Dad was a janitor who worked seven days a week. They did everything they could to support our family and instill the meaning of hard work in me.

The work ahead of us – to defeat Marco Rubio and protect our Senate majority – is hard. It's probably the hardest race I've ever fought. But if I have the resources, and do the work, I will win.

If there's one thing I know for sure, it's that Marco Rubio isn't going to fight for everyday Americans like my parents, or you and me. He's legislating for GOP special interests and a handful of big donors, not Floridians – and he's even trying to silence voters like you by refusing to protect your voting rights.

Just 10,033 votes decided Florida's last Senate race – a margin of less than two tenths of a percentage point. In close races like these, every dollar we raise, every phone bank we run, every voter we register – starting from day one – will make a huge difference on Election Day.  

My campaign kicked off strong – but the finish line is miles away, and I'm still $6,223 short of my midnight fundraising goal with just X hours left and I'm counting on you, Friend.
