Standing up to big tobacco to protect Montana kids in court
Raph is lead counsel for Montana’s public health authorities in a dispute about whether kids in Montana should be able to buy candy-flavored electronic cigarettes. These products have led to an outbreak of injuries in recent months and a tragic death in Montana.
Raph led arguments in a two day hearing that covered 11 witnesses. The parties are awaiting a ruling.
Fighting for the Montana Constitution and public education at the U.S. Supreme Court
Raph is part of a team fighting to defend Montana’s constitution from an assault by out-of-state activists trying to send our public tax dollars to private religious schools. The state submitted its brief this month. The United States Supreme Court will take the case up at oral argument in January.
Defending anti-corruption and transparency rules in government contracting
Raph is lead counsel defending the Governor’s first-in-the-nation executive order to require the disclosure of dark money spending by government contractors in Montana. An Illinois-based dark money group sued to invalidate the order, saying that it intends to influence the 2020 Governor’s election in Montana and that the executive order--and transparency--makes it harder to fundraise.
Raph will lead arguments in court defending the order later this year.
It’s time to elect an Attorney General who works for us again.
Raph is that advocate.
The Attorney General is supposed to be the public’s top lawyer, a real advocate who goes to court and stands up for our values when the stakes are high. That’s the kind of leadership Raph is already delivering for Montanans--including in recent cases where our current Attorney General won't.
Will you join our campaign and consider donating or volunteering to help get Raph Graybill elected as our next Attorney General?
