Happy Mother’s Day! As a proud Mama’s Boy, I wanted to share with you a little bit about my mother, Berdetta Hodge.

My mother is my biggest inspiration and role model. She raised me and my brother by herself and instilled lifelong morals and values in us. She taught us so much about faith, leadership, and helping others. I’m the person I am today because of her, and I am so grateful for her.

My mom was the first Black woman elected in the City of Tempe, and now I have the opportunity to become the first Black member of Congress from Arizona. She showed me that anything was possible, and I’m running so the next generation can see that anything is possible too. I hope you’ll consider contributing to our movement today so we can do this together.
