Hey everyone, Happy Mother’s Day!!

This is a day to honor and celebrate all the mothers out there who have done so much for all of us without asking for any of the recognition they so rightfully deserve.

Today should also be a day where we reflect on what mothers go through for their children, and how we as a country and a state can better support them. The COVID-19 pandemic drove many mothers out of the workforce entirely or sent them to remote work, meaning now a part of a mother’s day combined working AND taking care of children at home.

A few policies can help us take better care of mothers. Paid family leave and affordable, accessible childcare are just some beginner steps, and we as Democrats wholeheartedly support those policy positions.

This Mother’s Day, we are recommitting ourselves to those efforts, and to taking better care of our nation’s mothers.
