John,
In honor of Mother’s Day, Imani’s letting me take over her email for the day.
While I love celebrating Mother’s Day with my daughter, this year more than most, I’m reminded of the burden mothers — and all women — are facing in this country.
I raised Imani on my own, working as a preschool teacher. And I know firsthand that motherhood can be a struggle, that working class women and women of color don’t get the support they need to raise a family.
And Imani knows it too.
I can’t tell you how proud I am to have such a passionate, dedicated, and determined daughter. It’s been a privilege to watch her run this campaign, fight for what she knows is right, and, most importantly, put in the work to make a real difference for families like ours.
This district, this state, and this country need a leader who understands the challenges women face — who will show up every day and fight for us. And I can guarantee you that Imani will be that leader. So, in honor of Mother’s Day, can you make a donation to support my daughter and join her fight for progress?
