My name is Lisl, and on this day that we celebrate all mothers and mother-figures, I want to share with you a little bit about my amazing stepmother, Janet Mills.

When she met my Dad, Stan, he was a widower with five daughters, including me, and she was District Attorney for Androscoggin, Franklin, and Oxford counties. Now that I’m a Mom to two little girls, I often think that she must have really been in love with Dad not to not run away from that challenge! But, as you probably know by now, Janet always steps up.

When I had my youngest daughter, it was just days before Janet’s election, and she was busy campaigning all over the state non-stop. But when I needed her, she was right there beside me. She has always made time to be there for her family and friends – just as she does now for the people of Maine.

Janet is compassionate but tough, and I can tell you first hand that she is working hard every day to support and improve the lives of all Mainers. It’s not just politics to her; it’s who she is.

Today, I’m asking you to join me in supporting Janet Mills by making a contribution of $15 to her reelection campaign so that she can continue to lead our state because she is simply the right person for the job.
