Friends,
Every year, I am excited to celebrate Mother’s Day. My mother worked multiple jobs to support my three sisters and me, and honoring her is something I always look forward to. Mothers do so much for their families and their communities, so I’d like to take a moment and recognize all the mothers who might be reading this: thank you for everything you do.
I would also like to reaffirm my commitment to creating real policy solutions to the broad range of issues mothers still face today. Child care conditions during the height of COVID-19 made the crisis clear: we need to invest in our mothers. That means paid family and medical leave. That means universal pre-K, equal pay for equal work, and passing the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.
Of course, now more than ever, it also means safeguarding women’s bodily autonomy and the right to make her own health care and reproductive decisions, which Congress can do by codifying into law the protections offered by Roe v. Wade.
In short, we need to systemically overhaul how we treat our mothers in America. And I am fully dedicated to advocating for every last one of these essential policy priorities, and policies that support equality for women overall. Too often, we take America’s mothers for granted. No longer.
If you’re on board with real policy solutions for mothers, will you contribute to my campaign friends, so we can prioritize mothers in America? [[link removed]]

Recognizing all that mothers do for our families and communities is important. But it is also critical to pass legislation that eases their burden. I am proud to lead efforts on this in Congress, and plan to continue this work for my mother, and all mothers.
Thank you very much for your ongoing support. And have a happy Mother’s Day!
— Lori
