Today, we celebrate immigrant mothers who are the foundation of our families. Mothers and mother-figures are indispensable—they protect and care for us, push us to grow and evolve, and are pillars of our communities. But immigrant mothers are also subject to some of the most brutal attacks on their health, safety, and labor. 

We’ve been advocating for immigrant mothers for years, and our recent campaigns have made meaningful progress towards protecting and uplifting them. Last month, we won Medicaid coverage for newly postpartum mothers for up to one year, regardless of immigration status, so previously uninsured mothers can receive the care they need. Now, we’re fighting to keep all immigrant mothers united with their families and protected in their homes.
