John,
Today is Mother’s Day, and I want to take a moment of your time to tell you about my mom.
My mom was a phenomenal human – she was “super deluxe.” She had two kids and went to law school while she was pregnant with a third child. She was a great role model, she was one of a kind, and she had a positive impact on everyone’s lives.
One of my favorite things was when people asked her, “How are you doing Sherry?” she responded with, “I’m super deluxe!” which always made people laugh.
While I was a pain in her side as a teenager, we grew to be very good friends as I got older. And when my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer, I spent hours battling health insurance companies to get her chemo covered because it was a fight that I was not backing down from.
Now, I’m in the fight for all Michiganders. My goal is to work on the things that will actually make a difference in your life right now.
And I do this work for my daughters and every family in Michigan. I want to make them proud. I want my girls to know their mom stood up for what she believed in and did the right things despite all we’re going through because being a mom means everything to me.
I have a lot planned for the path forward, but first, I’m going to ask you to recommit yourself alongside us. Will you help us continue to make progress here in Michigan by donating $5 today?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you, and happy Mother’s Day.
