Good morning and happy Mother's Day to all my mama
bears out there! I hope that you all have a wonderful day. I'll be having lunch with one of my daughters and her boyfriend, and missing my other daughter who lives in Canada. I'm so thankful for the internet though because that means I can see her face and talk to her even though she's far away.
I'll be adding more pots and plants to my patio garden this week. The weather has provided great conditions for my peas and radishes, which are flourishing. My lettuce is not quite so happy but it's starting to perk up.
My best advice with all the craziness going on in the world right now is as follows:
1) Manage your stress. This is a long-term situation. Don't burn yourself out at the beginning because the end is not yet in sight. Find a healthy, inexpensive way to let
off steam and keep yourself centered.
2) Make real connections. As things continue to decline, make genuine connections and find people you can trust, if you haven't done this already. At the same time, don't trust too much - there are certain things you should keep private for your family's safety. People change when they become desperate.
3) Make the most of where you are. You may not be in the "ideal" location but there are things you can do to improve where you are. Figure out how you can be the most self-reliant version of yourself where you live right now.
4) Be grateful. Despite all the stress in the world, find something to be grateful for every single day. Even if things seem dark, find one small thing and hang onto that. Gratitude is an attitude that spills into other parts of your life.
I hope you have a great week!
