Falklands Forty Schools competition: Last month, I wrote to Surrey Heath’s secondary schools to invite them to take part in a competition initiated by the Falkland's Government to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the Falklands Islands. An amazing opportunity to visit the Falklands is up for grabs, and you can learn more here.
Camberley - Best Town For Business: I was delighted, but unsurprised, to learn that Camberley has won the Best Town For Business Award. This is fantastic news and I am so pleased that Camberley has been recognised for all the brilliant support it offers to businesses.You can find out more here.
Esso Installation update: Esso have provided an update for Surrey Heath residents on the installation of their Southampton to London Pipeline, which you can read here.
SHBC Chief Executive catch-up: It was a pleasure catching up with Damian Roberts at Surrey Heath Borough Council last month. We discussed a number of important local issues, including how the Homes for Ukraine Scheme is progressing in Surrey Heath.
Surrey Heath Borough Commander meeting: Many thanks to Gemma Taylor, the new Borough Commander for Surrey Heath, for meeting me in April and talking me through her plans for tackling crime in my constituency and outlining her priorities locally.
Oysters Fish & Chips visit: It was an absolute joy visiting the newly opened Oysters Fish & Chips branch in the Old Dean, you can see more about the visit here.
Gordon's School visit: I very much enjoyed the opportunity to speak to the Sixth Form students at Gordon's School in West End in April. It was also very interesting to speak to the Head Teacher, Andrew Moss, about how Gordon's has been faring following the pandemic.
M3/A322 Noise Pollution update: In April, I wrote to Defra Secretary George Eustice regarding noise pollution emanating from the M3 in Surrey Heath. I asked for his guidance on securing improvements as soon as possible, and I will be sure to share any updates once I have any news.
Deepcut Power-outages: Following a series of power-outages experienced at a number of military homes in Deepcut, I wrote to Defence Minister, Jeremy Quin MP, to ask if he can assist in expediting the connection of these homes to the SSE network, significantly improving the reliability of their power-source.

Letter to the Construction Products Association: Last month, I wrote to the Construction Products Association and warned I will do whatever it takes to hold cladding and insulation manufacturers to account. You can read my letter here.
Building safety repairs agreement: The government has revealed a wide-ranging agreement with major developers that will see industry contribute £5 billion to address the building safety scandal. You can find out more here.
UK Shared Prosperity Fund: Communities across the United Kingdom will benefit from £2.6 billion of funding being allocated to help spread opportunity and level up the country. This includes £212 million of funding to Scotland, and £585 million to Wales. You can learn more here.
Elections Bill: Last month, the Elections Bill received Royal Assent, meaning voters across the UK will benefit from greater protection against election fraud, more support for disabled people at the polling booth, and measures to prevent intimidation at the ballot box.
