With mail-in ballots set to be mailed out on Monday, just a reminder that if you want to elect someone who works for you and not the protection of the party, you have to elect an independent like myself. I'm the only one in the race that's calling corruption on both parties. The other candidates can't oppose their own parties. Check out the website and if you've got some extra change lying around, it'll help keep this campaign moving forward.

At today's Disband NATO protest, hosted by the Napa Institute For Peace in partnership with CodePink and the People's Party, Beverly shared about her voyages in Asia. In Phnom Penh, Cambodia, she would see hundreds of people gathered in the square- children playing, people gathering and just hanging out- and just one police officer would be present. We have no idea the police state that we live in because we can't see the forest for the trees. US police kill 1000 people per year and we have about a fifth of the world's prison population despite having less than 5% of the world's population. Those numbers are very disproportionate.
World Press Freedom Day just passed, and while our government officials pay lip service to press freedoms, they are persecuting a foreign journalist who is not beholden to our laws as a political prisoner. American journalists who criticize the empire face censorship, suppression through algorithms and even bizarre hit pieces accusing them of conspiracy theories or working for foreign governments in order to discredit them for truthful journalism. You don't see these attacks on tabloid writers, do you? And now a censorship board called a disinformation management board has been created to further suppress the truth. Never in my lifetime have I witnessed press freedom under such attack. Our freedom has never faced such a threat in our lifetimes.

Speaking of press freedom and censrship, check out my new article on censorship.
"When you silence voices, especially popular ones, they seek safe spaces and their followers will follow them, and whatever they have to say will be widely accepted within that echo chamber. This misses an opportunity to provide counter-information."

How can the party that purports to be all about protecting our freedoms try so hard to take them away from women? I've been waiting for Chief Justice Roberts' confirmation to comment on this, because I just couldn't believe it. The major parties seem to spend all their time trying to make voters think they're worse than the other.
On Tuesday I spoke with a writer from Bloomberg who is doing a story on catalytic converter theft, which is the perfect opportunity to reiterate my intention to write a bill requiring new and used car lots to install catalytic converter shields before selling a car. $150 from the owner class will save working families $2000 or more and is just common sense.
Some people think that our economy is running well even though most people are struggling to pay their rent, but if the vast majority of us can't afford to go out to dinner at a nice restaurant or take the family to Yosemite, is it really OUR economy at all? What is Joe Biden doing to help struggling Americans? He gave some crumbs to parents, but if you're not a parent then you got squat. And yet the money is flowing freely to make war on the other side of the planet. What would a Howitzer cannon in Kharkiv mean to you and your family?

Here is a fascinating and illuminating interview of Konstantin Yaroshenko, who the United States kidnapped and arrested, depriving him of due process, framing him and holding him for 12 years until recently freeing him in a prisoner exchange with Russia.

This Lend Lease bill that will allow the government to send unlimited weapons to Ukraine was introduced in the Senate on January 19! How is THAT possible? More than a month before Russia invaded? This is insane. Also, corrupt. Call the Ministry of Truth!

"As Assange explained, the war on Afghanistan enabled the national security elite to extract money from the US taxpayer, wash it through Kabul and back into their own pockets.

The $33 billion “aid” package to Ukraine serves the same corrupt purpose." - Max Blumenthal

Pope Francis knows that NATO, and especially the United States, provoked Russia into its invasion of Ukraine. Why does Pope Francis get it? He probably doesn't watch CNN or MSNBC, which lie to promote war.

Does socialism really work? But what about the problems that it's had? Professor Richard Wolff, in a talk at Bard College in New York, talked about the process of making an economic system better. Are criticisms of past socialist systems proof that socialism does not work?
It is absolutely VITAL that we get past the place of choosing what person, organization or country that we side with, coming to the conclusion that everything that person, organization or country is 100% good, true and right, that anyone who sides with them is also good, true and right, and that anyone criticizing that person, organization or country is evil, a liar, a racist and never right about anything. Granted, sometimes they are, but we MUST re-learn how to treat each other with kindness and respect, and to have the patience to hear criticisms in good faith, consider evidence and make evidence-based conclusions with the understanding that no one is beyond criticism.

Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders and Jewish Americans share May for our heritage months, although most of us don't usually think about it that way, or see each other as competing (we aren't) but why does neither group qualify for our own heritage month? This is very strange. Both groups are often forgotten about, ignored or targeted by racism. To my AAPI brothers and sisters, I'm proud to share this month with you.
