Recap: DNC Town Hall

The DNC hosted a town hall last week with Chair Jaime Harrison, Political Director Alana Mounce, and States Director Ramsey Reid. They discussed our party’s strategic investments ahead of the midterms and how Democrats are going to combat GOP Senator Rick Scott’s plan to raise taxes on working class families and sunset Medicare and Social Security in five years.

The DNC has done more, earlier than ever before, to prepare for the upcoming midterm elections, including:

Announcing $23 million to support state parties
Creating a first-of-its-kind Red State Fund to build targeted programs in traditionally Republican states
Transferring $15 million directly to our sister committees and supporting staffers on the ground to help Democrats win across the country
Expanding its voter protection work with a $25 million investment targeted at voter education, voter protection, targeted voter registration, and technology

National Teacher of the Year

In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden -- who is the nation’s first First Lady to work full time as a professor while in the White House -- hosted educators from across the nation at the White House.
