John,

Tucson Trump supporter Jonathan Sparks remembers vividly the moment last year when Daniel Zaroes Brito, a Democrat, violently assaulted him from behind for wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat and waving a pro-Republican sign, "Vote Jobs, Not Mobs–Vote Republican."

Brito was arrested after jumping onto Sparks and breaking his victim's ankle in several places, causing hospitalization and surgery. Brito also shouted things about "Hitler," "Nazi," and "Trump" at Sparks during the attack.
But as it turns out, that's not the end of the story.

You see, Brito also served as Legislative Assistant to Arizona Democrat Impeacher Rep. Raul Grijalva (CD-3), who is himself a staunch and outspoken critic of President Trump.

In 2017, the Arizona Democrat congressman was arrested for blocking traffic and protesting outside Trump Tower, and then refusing to leave when asked by police. According to the Arizona Republic, the 2017 arrest outside Trump Tower was Grijalva's third arrest for civil disobedience.
Should Rep. Grijalva condemn the violent assault by his former staffer?
Yes
No
Jonathan Sparks paid a painful price for exercising his free speech rights. Sadly, this is part of a pattern developing on the Left where we see people carrying out random acts of violence against innocent individuals simply because of their political views.
Unless he tones down his divisive rhetoric, Rep. Grijalva's unhinged hatred for President Trump could embolden similar future acts of violence against some of his constituents who support the president.
