This past weekend I had a chance to speak to Democrats in Chesterfield County at their “What’s Brewing in D.C.” event.

And let me tell you — Democrats in Virginia are excited. Enthusiasm is as high as I’ve ever seen it. Everyone knows what’s at stake this year, and the importance of our state elections in 2023.

They’re ready to fight, and they’re ready to win.

Last November was tough. We didn’t win the races we wanted to win. And we’ve been playing defense a lot more than we’ve had to in recent years because of it.

But the Democrats I met in Chesterfield County, and elsewhere in the state, are turning their frustration and their anger into action. No one is lying down. No one is simply accepting the disastrous policies Republicans are trying to implement in our state.

We have hard work to do. Keeping the Senate blue and the House blue begins with keeping Virginia’s congressional delegate blue. Then next year, we need to put everything we have into keeping the State Senate, and winning back the State House.
