Please, we cannot ignore this, John: More than 800 insurrectionists have been charged, and now, Rudy Giuliani is set to testify in front of the Jan. 6 committee this month.

Yet my opponent, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R), has failed to hold Trump accountable, even defending his attempts to use the DOJ to overturn the election.

From the beginning, I have said that I’m running for Senate because I take these threats to our democracy very seriously – and this is exactly what I've been talking about. Practically every day more evidence is made public, showing that Donald Trump and his allies conspired to steal an election, to obstruct Congress and to overturn the will of the American people. They may have failed a year ago, but our democracy is still in an alarmingly fragile state.

You see, just a year after his failed insurrection, Donald Trump has already kicked off his comeback tour – and his eyes are set on 2024. John, it gets worse: despite the incredible danger that Trump poses to our democracy, GOP leaders, including Sen. Grassley, are embracing him today like never before. Sen. This is not a drill, John. Trump and his extremist allies are so obsessed with snatching power that they won't hesitate to disenfranchise voters and destroy our democracy to accomplish it. As caught on video of a town hall here in Iowa, Sen. Grassley even accepted blatantly false conspiracy theories about the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Trump and Sen. Grassley are doing everything they can to make sure their far-right cronies take back the Senate – which would pave the way for Trump to run again in 2024. It's up to us to stop them. With Sen. Grassley facing record-low approval ratings, we have a real chance to flip this seat blue, but the GOP have $44 million in the bank to stop Democratic challengers like me and take back the Senate.
