Hi,

The war in Yemen is currently on pause for the first time in 6 years, due to the Ramadan holiday. The ceasefire is supposed to give Yemenis a fighting chance at survival by allowing humanitarian aid to reach the over 23 million Yemenis who need immediate lifesaving assistance.

But it isn't permanent. The truce is scheduled to end next month.1

Temporary relief is not enough. When conflict resumes, the people of Yemen will face mass death and suffering. The United States needs to stop propping up the Saudi war on Yemen right now. Click here if you agree.

By backing Saudi-led troops in Yemen with weapons, money, and intel, the United States is actively perpetuating one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. It's morally indefensible, and Congress must act to withdraw US support now.

Sign the petition: We demand Congress must take a stand against the war in Yemen by passing a War Powers resolution ending US military aid immediately!

In March 2021, President Biden announced plans to withdraw US support for the war in Yemen, noting the "unendurable devastation" Yemenis have faced.2 But more than a year later, that still hasn't happened.

It's time for Congress to act by adopting a War Powers Resolution halting US military involvement in the war in Yemen.

Congressional action can't wait. The situation in Yemen is incredibly dire: over two million children under the age of five are expected to suffer from acute malnutrition in 2022 and could die without urgent treatment.

More than sixty advocacy groups are calling on Congress to pass the War Powers Resolution immediately, putting an end to US support for a conflict that "has helped cause the deaths of nearly half a million people and pushed millions more to the edge of starvation."3

Congress needs to hear from you, too: we condemn US support for these atrocities!

Sign the petition: Tell Congress to pass a War Powers Resolution to help end the war in Yemen!

Thanks for taking action,

Izzi and the team at Demand Progress
