Dear John,

This week, we are back with our Digital Drum Beat, reminding our communities about the importance of coming to Washington, D.C., for the Mass Poor People’s and Low Wage Workers’ Assembly and Moral March on Washington and to the Polls. Throughout history, many communities have used beating drums to show unity and communicate important messages. As we move closer to June 18, 2022, the largest gathering of poor and low-wealth people this country has ever seen, we will continue beating our digital drums and asking you to use your social media network to let everyone know why you are going to #MeetUsinDC!

This week, we are asking you to make a video on your personal reasons why you are coming to Washington, D.C., on June 18. There are so many touch points in this campaign: living wages, climate change, denial of health care, militarism, the war economy, forgiveness of debts, the false moral narrative of religious nationalism, and more. This is a movement led by and for poor and low-income people, and we want everyone to see the reasons we are touching so many people.

We want to flood Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok with videos showing the power of our movement and show this country why you will join us in Washington, D.C., this June. We could not do this without you and your willingness to help us bring as many people as possible to the Mass Poor People’s and Low-Wage Workers’ Assembly and Moral March on Washington and to the Polls. Be sure to share videos of your movement family after you share your own.

Thank you for being a part of our Digital Drum Beat each week and staying up to date on all the ways we are using social media to amplify our message and keep folks excited as the summer continues.

Forward together, not one step back!
