The news that the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade is devastating — but we cannot sit idly by.

The leaked draft opinion would take away Americans’ right to safe and legal abortion, a right that has been theirs by law for half a century.

We knew this was a possibility, but I’m appalled by how far-reaching this draft decision is in its reversal of Roe and decades-old legal precedent.

The legal reasoning the conservative Justices outline in this draft not only takes away the right to bodily autonomy but also threatens the right to privacy and could be used to take away other hard-won rights in the future.

Friends, as the rights and safety of millions are under threat, we must do all that we can to support one another. Can you please rush in a donation to the National Network of Abortion Funds — where it will be split between 80 organizations that help ensure access to life-saving reproductive health care for all Americans?

Americans must be able to make their own choices about their bodies, their lives, and their health. Doctors must not be barred from giving vital medical care.
