John,
With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, it's important that we celebrate the tough mothers in our movement who make our work so impactful. And while we honor the incredible work they do, we acknowledge that for far too many mothers in this country who have lost a child to gun violence, this is a time defined by grief, not joy.
I started Moms Demand Action as a Facebook group with the simple message that everyone in America can and should do more to reduce gun violence. Today, we've grown into a movement of millions of students, teachers, gun owners, community organizers, mayors, and, of course, mothers doing everything we can to end gun violence.
Our work to end gun violence is far from finished. Everytown and Moms Demand Action volunteers are working around the clock to organize and build the support necessary to pass stronger gun laws. But here's the thing: enacting stronger gun safety laws and working to end gun violence every day will take all the resources we can get.
So by all means, bring on the cards and flowers this Mother's Day. And then make a gift to support our movement of tough mothers, students, community organizers, and so many more people who are working every day to end gun violence. We're not going to stop and we're counting on your support to keep going.
Support Moms Demand Action this Mother's Day.
Thank you for all that you do and happy Mother's Day!
