The Supreme Court’s draft opinion overturning Roe is not narrow. It
targets many rights.
It says same-sex marriage is "not rooted" in the Constitution and it makes
the case that contraception and even interracial marriage are not either.
Republican Senator Mike Braun from Indiana was asked on C-SPAN if he would
be ok with the Supreme Court going so far as to leave the question of
interracial marriage to the states. His answer? "Yes."
This is for real. Massive pressure is needed now for Congress to enshrine
Roe into law. But we must also expand our Senate majority so we can reform
the filibuster, protect Roe if it isn’t done this year, reform the Supreme
Court, and confirm future Biden-nominated Justices.
