The Britannia Coconut Dancers in Bacup, Lancashire, split from The Joint Morris Organisation in 2020 after they refused to comply with the country's umbrella group for Morris dancing groups' request for them to stop using blackface.
And so it will come as to surprise to learn that, despite the ruling, the Britannia Coconut Dancers defied the order and wore the same costumes and make-up as traditionally done, in front of the Crowns Inn on Sunday.

A new peer-reviewed study entitled: "Correlation Between Mask Compliance and COVID-19 Outcomes in Europe" has demonstrated that use of face masks, even widespread, did not correlate with better outcomes during the COVID 'epidemic', based on data from 35 European countries with populations of over one million people each, encompassing a total of 602 million people.

Married man jailed for raping 15-year-old girl, racially abused her
A 54-year-old married man has been jailed for 11 years after being found guilty of raping a 15-year-old girl – but the court heard his wife is standing by him.
He was found guilty of sexual activity with a child and two counts of facilitating the travel of another person with the view of exploitation, which covers the period from August to October 2021.
