I wanted to reach out personally to talk to you about what happened this week. Let me start by saying that the right to reproductive choice is still intact – for now. It’s important that people know this is not a done deal.
If the court does overturn
Roe, it falls to Congress to protect reproductive freedom – and we are going to fight.
We will not allow far-right extremists on the Supreme Court – or anywhere else – to play politics with the right to privacy and erase decades of precedent.
The House has passed the
Women’s Health Protection Act, which will codify
Roe v. Wade in federal law and protect reproductive rights across the nation once and for all. Now, it’s time for the Senate to do the same.
My Democratic colleagues and I need 25,000 signatures on this petition by the end of the weekend. Will you add your name to demand the Senate take action immediately? Congress needs to know a majority of Americans still support reproductive rights.
If this outrageous and shocking ruling goes into effect, here’s what will happen:
Anti-choice measures in 26 states will enact healthcare restrictions that severely limit or entirely ban abortion, even in the most dangerous or extreme cases. Other conservative state legislatures will follow suit.
The most marginalized Americans – those who are already impacted by poverty, racism, discrimination – will face greater obstacles to receiving life-saving healthcare.
Supreme Court precedent protecting the right to privacy, marriage equality, access to affordable healthcare, desegregation of schools, and much more will be at stake.
Decades of progress could be erased – unless we act now. Add your name and demand the Senate act on reproductive rights:
Republicans have been plotting this move for years. While they may have succeeded in stacking the Court with judges who are hostile to reproductive freedom – we cannot let them win this battle.
Now more than ever, it’s crucial that each and every one of us fight for our values and use our voices for change. Please make your voice heard today by signing the petition here:

Thank you. I’ll keep you updated –
