This fight is for reproductive justice, for economic justice, and for racial justice. And I’m not backing down.

John,

This week, a leaked Supreme Court opinion showed that the conservative, Trump-appointed judges are ready to strike down Roe v. Wade. I wanted to reach out first and foremost to make it clear. Abortion is still legal, it is still a right, and I will not stop fighting to protect it.

But even now, there are Americans across the country who are unable to access the reproductive care they need.

The state bans in place now – and the ones we know will go into effect if Roe is overturned – fall hardest on those already marginalized by our healthcare system, from Latinos, Black Americans, Indigenous people, and AAPIs to immigrants to LGBTQ+ communities to working families.

The best thing you can do right now is to support the groups on the ground working to ensure Americans get the care they deserve. You can make a donation to the Chicago Abortion Fund here.

This fight is for reproductive justice, for economic justice, and for racial justice. And I’m not backing down.

Thank you,
Chuy
