John, I want to share with you what I just shared with hundreds of Pennsylvanians today in Philadelphia:

I will defend reproductive rights as your next Governor.

I hear how angry you are, how mad and frustrated you are — and indeed I hear how sad you are. I’m angry, mad, frustrated, and sad too.

But I sure hope that you don’t feel hopeless. Because at the end of the day, you’re the ones with the power — the power to protect a woman’s right to choose and ensure that abortion is protected here in Pennsylvania.

Next year, the GOP-led Legislature is going to put a bill on the desk of the next Governor to ban all abortions in Pennsylvania. All nine of my Republican opponents will sign that bill into law.

Here’s what I will do: I will take out my veto plan and veto any ban on abortion.

Because this is all about our fundamental freedoms — the freedom to make a decision over your own body. The freedom to decide how and when you raise your own family.

When I’m Governor, I will protect your freedoms and your rights — I will stand in the breach with each and every one of you. Even though my name is on the ballot, it’s your rights that are on the line.

Together, we will exercise our power — at the ballot box, in our communities, and all across the Commonwealth — and defend our rights.
