OurCrime with DeWine campaign released another video on Tuesday. <[link removed]>From kitchen tables to city streets, everyone has one question on their mind: Why does Governor Mike Dewine still take money from corrupt utility companies?



We won’t stop until we get answers



Even after the corruption was exposed in 2020, Ohio’s elected leaders didn’t fully investigate or fix the problem. The ongoing scandal is that we still don't know where the bribery money came from. Did FirstEnergy use ratepayer money to fund the bribes? Where was the oversight? Why was this permissible? 



In theory, elected representatives can be removed from office if enough voters are unhappy with their performance. But gerrymandering has made it difficult for voters to hold politicians accountable.



That's why we’re proud to join nine Ohio advocacy organizations in filing an amicus brief <[link removed]>at the Ohio Supreme Court in opposition of the partisan gerrymandered congressional maps passed by the Ohio Redistricting Commission. <[link removed]>

Next Tuesday at 11:30am, Representative Casey Weinstein and Representative Juanita Brent will offer testimony in support of the Energy <[link removed]>Jobs And Justice <[link removed]> Act <[link removed]>, which would invest in equitable clean energy jobs, reduce our emissions and hold utilities accountable.

Akron renames park in honor of our former Akron Program Director Rich Swirsky



Rich Swirsky, our former Program Director and Akron city councilman, was honored last weekend with a park dedicated in Highland Square <[link removed]> to his honor.



Rich's son David Swirsky said his father loved helping people and operated on the principle of tikkun olam, roughly translated as “repair the world” or “heal the world.”



His actions as councilman, teacher and program director for Ohio Citizen Action reflected his commitment to make the world a better place. His memory is a blessing to us all.
