Here is a brief sample of our recent work on this critical issue:

#1 - America First Legal partnered with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and representing the State of Texas as outside counsel, sued the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security over a new rule that would radically reshape the asylum system and exacerbate the crisis at the border to the great peril of the American people.

Under the phony guise of asylum, this extremist regulation—the most extreme immigration regulation ever proposed—would in fact demolish all immigration control, tear federal law to shreds, and turn our border into a green card factory for illegal aliens. It must be stopped and we will work with Texas to do everything in our power to stop it.

#2 - America First Legal submitted comments with the Department of Homeland Security objecting to its February 24, 2022, Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on the meaning of “public charge” under the immigration laws. We argued that DHS’s proposed new rule will encourage the abuse of myriad public benefits by illegal aliens, and harm the United States.

Financial self-sufficiency is the cornerstone of any sane immigration system. The Administration’s effort to bring welfare-dependent migrants into the United States is an assault on every taxpaying citizen and the whole financial and social structure of our nation. This regulation is an abomination! We will fight it! 

#3 - America First Legal partnered with the State of Texas to file a lawsuit and a motion for a preliminary injunction against the Biden Administration’s plans to terminate Title 42 on May 23, 2022.

The Biden Administration’s disastrous open border policies and its confusing and haphazard COVID-19 response have combined to create a humanitarian and public safety crisis on our southern border.

Illegal immigration is already far above all-time record highs; rescinding Title 42 now is an overt act of hostility against Texas and America, the apparent sole objective of which is to overwhelm our communities with illegal immigration on a scale that defies description. We are racing toward one of history’s greatest tragedies if this is allowed to happen...
