Chairman Kyle Hupfer speaks at the recent Allen County Lincoln Day Dinner. |
On Tuesday, hundreds of thousands of Hoosiers headed to the polls (with their ID in hand) to cast their ballot for the 2022 primary elections. And thanks to the hard work of county clerks, election boards, administrators, inspectors, and judges across the state, it was another well-executed election — something we’ve come to expect under Republican leadership. If you hadn’t heard, Secretary of State Holli Sullivan recently announced that Indiana had received two national awards, the “Outstanding Election Official Association Program” award and the “Outstanding Innovations in Elections” award, from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, honoring the state’s best practices in election administration and training.
These awards, combined with our strong voter ID law and recently passed legislation mandating the installation of voter verifiable paper audit trails on every voting machine by 2024, highlight our state’s successful record of ensuring election integrity. And under Secretary Sullivan’s leadership, this successful record will continue into November and beyond. I also want to congratulate all of the winners of Tuesday’s primary elections, including those of you who were elected to serve as a state convention delegate — we’re excited to be hosting you soon in Indianapolis!
