In April, the United Nations climate agency, the IPCC, released a new report that stated that it’s “now or never” to take action and stave off the worst of the climate disaster.1
But now, the report has largely left the media without any action from our leaders.
After a report like this, we cannot allow our elected officials to go on “business-as-usual” without having to respond. That’s where you come in, John:
One key way to put pressure on them is through the media – which is why we’re asking you to send a letter to your local newspapers today making the case for why your elected officials should pledge their commitment to Real Zero emissions.
All you need to do is input your address and select the news outlets of your choice. We have a sample letter and talking points that you can use, and our system will automatically send the letter to the appropriate place.
We need our elected officials to recognize the severity of the IPCC report by committing to climate plans that radically reduce emissions to zero.
If we can get hundreds of letters published in local media across the country, we can build pressure for our leaders to finally act on the IPCC report.
